Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 tablespoon cocoa powder, unsweetened
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup, or more to taste
  • 1 tablespoon sunflower seed butter or almond butter
  • Small pinch of salt
  • 1 1/2 cup hot water

Instructions

  • Boil the water in a kettle or a saucepan.
  • In a high-speed blender, add the cocoa powder, maple syrup, sunflower seed butter (or almond butter) and salt. Pour in the hot water.
  • Blend until smooth and frothy, about 10-20 seconds. Be careful for the steam when you remove the lid of the blender.

Notes

You could try using other nut or seed butters. Cashew butter would be another good option, but I've only tried sunflower seed butter and almond butter.
Adjust the sweetness and cocoa to taste.
